He was born March 29, 1978 in Linton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arvel Blume.

He was a member of the S.P. Waltrip Lodge 1328 (A.F.&A.M. of Texas), 32nd Degree Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and Arabia Shrine Temple and member of the Motor Corp.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virgina; two sons and their wives, Gary W. and Suzie and Dr. Jeffrey L. and Lisa, all of Houston; four grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Blume of Huntsville, Ala., Dr. Christopher Blume of Houston, Caroline and Connor Blume of Houston.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd R. and Louise Blume and Muril E. and Joan Blume; a sister, Roma Kay Stark of California; and special friends Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shonk, Mr. and Mrs. Kalil and Mrs. Claudall Presnal.

A memorial service was conducted at Memorial Oaks Cemetery on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks thatdonations be sent to the Shriners' Crippled Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
