Roy Howard Bredeweg

Roy Howard Bredeweg, 94, of Linton, passed away at 11:25 a.m., Wed, Feb. 18, 2004, at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born Dec. 13, 1909 in Greene County, he was the son of John and Ethel (Hart) Bredeweg Boriff.

He was a retired farmer and drove a Linton-Stockton school bus for 38 years, retiring in 1975. He was a lifetime member of the Saron United Church of Christ in Linton.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Herbert Lee and Madeline Bredeweg of Linton; a half-sister, Doris Green of Linton; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maude (Fiscus) Bredeweg; three sons, Herman Ray Bredeweg, William H. Bredeweg, and John Bredeweg, Jr.; three brothers, Walter Bredeweg, Levi Bredeweg, and Sherman Bredeweg; two step-brothers, Alvin "Shorty" Boriff and Elmo Boriff; four step-sisters, Ruth Taylor, Nellie Faye Lehman, Blanche Taylor, and Lucy Klass; one grandson, Charles LeRoy Bredeweg; and his parents.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Saron United Church of Christ with the Rev. Mike Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery in Linton.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel, and after 9 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Saron United Church of Christ through the funeral home.
