He was born March 16, 1915 in New Albany to William C. and Corrine (Rutledge) Deatrick.
He was a building contractor and retired farmer. He was a member of the Worthington Christian Church, Worthington Masonic Lodge 577 F&AM and was a director of the Worthington State Bank for 25 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Harriett (Landis) Deatrick of Worthington; three daughters, Mary Jane Clayton of Harbor Springs, Mich., Linda Clark of Huntsville, Texas, and Nancy Vassar of Worthington; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington with Sherman Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday, and Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Masonic service will be Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Disabled Veterans.
