Born Nov. 3, 1956 in Columbus, he was the son of Ronald and Carolyn (Wools) Bland.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Frank Courtney American Legion Post 22 in Linton.
Survivors include his wife, Penny (Baker) Bland, whom he married on Dec. 15, 1995; two sons, Steven Johnson of Indianapolis and Billy LaRoche of Linton; three daughters, Stormy Johnson of Indianapolis, Kelly Jo LaRoche of Linton, and Patty Jo Riorden of Worthington; two brothers, Mark Bland of Long Beach, Miss., and Matthew Bland of Bloomfield; one sister, Marcy Stahl of Bloomfield; his parents, Ronald Bland and Carolyn (Wools) Bland; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and Uncle Kenny Baker who lived in Michael's home.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with the Rev. Michael Alley officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery with military graveside services.
Friends may call from 4- 8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday.
