Born Aug. 31, l958, in Linton, he was the son of Henry Lee and LaPalma Sue (Fitzpatrick) Archer.
He was the Crane Fire Department-Fire Inspector/Arson Investigator; an Advanced EMT for Southwest Ambulance in Washington; manager for Emge Stockyard in Carmi. He was a member of the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association and the Sandborn Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen (Judy) Archer of Sandborn, whom he married on June 16, 1979; one son, Tanner Archer of Sandborn; two daughters, Samantha and Staci Archer of Sandborn; one granddaughter, Molly Archer of Sandborn; one brother, Henry Archer, Jr., and his wife Sharon of Princeton; and two sisters, Jean Scere and her husband Bennie of Bloomington, and Janet Archer of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nancy; his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at the Sandborn Christian Church at 1 p.m. on Tuesday with Pastor Larry Maffett officiating. Burial will follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Edwardsport.
Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. today at the Anderson-Poindexter Sandborn Chapel. There will be a Fire Dept. bell ringing ceremony at 7 p.m.
