Junko Newsom, 71, of Bloomfield, passed away Monday, March 15, 2004 at 10:20 a.m. at Bloomington Hospital.

Born Sept. 3, 1932, in Tokyo, Japan, she was the daughter of Mitsyoshi and Yoshiko (Sakai) Uchida.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Conrad Newsom of Bloomfield; two sons, W. David Newsom and Steven A. Newsom, both of Bloomington; two brothers, Masaiyu Uchida and Shuneaku Uchida, both of Tokyo, Japan; three grandsons, Joey Newsom and his wife Sarah of Indianapolis, Vincent Newsom and Wyatt Newsom, both of Bloomington; and three granddaughters, Kaitlin Newsom, Eva Newsom, and Jenna Newsom, all of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. There will be a private burial service.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday.
