Violet Lorraine Miller, 82, of Dugger, passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.

She was born in Sullivan County on July 30, 1921, and was the daughter of Dale Boyd and Edith Ballard Boyd.

She was a self-employed beautician.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hallie Miller in 1998.

She is survived by one son, George Ringer of Mooresville; a brother, Fred Boyd of Dugger; a sister, Eloise Mason of Sullivan; and two granddaughters, Dawn Detty and Julie Galyan.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. John Booker officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
