SULLIVAN ---- Gracie M. Irwin, 68, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 11 p.m. at Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan.

Born Jan. 5, 1936, in Sullivan, she was the daughter of William and Ellen Mae (McGuire) Brooks.

She worked as a nurse's aide at Mary Sherman Hospital in Sullivan. She was a member of American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Irwin of Sullivan and Cindy Britt of Salem, Ill.; one son, Steve Irwin of Abilene, Texas; one brother, John Brooks of Sullivan; one sister, Ada Kirk of Marshall, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Wayne Irwin; one son, Rick Irwin; two sisters; and her parents.

Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan with the Rev. Howard Sewell officiating.

Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday at Alexander-Kean Funeral Home in Sullivan.
