Alberta Maxwell, 77, of Sullivan, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.

Born May 7, 1927 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Aden and Jessie (Goodman) Jackson.

She retired as a secretary at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Ariz., and had been a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Gregory Maxwell of Ames, Iowa and Douglas Maxwell of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister Josephine Lovelace of Adrian, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll T. Maxwell, who passed away in May 2003; one brother James Jackson; and two sisters, Dorothy Roth and Lucille Sisil.

Graveside service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Pleasantville Cemetery with the Rev. David Breidendaugh officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger.
