Born Aug. 29, 1911 in Dugger, she was the daughter of Frank Matthew and Dovie Cooksey Goldman.
She was retired from Montgomery Ward in Terre Haute.
Survivors include: one daughter Carolyn Campbell of Seattle, Wash.; two sons, William Ellis of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Jerry Ellis of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry G. McElroy, who passed away in 1992; four brothers, William Goldman, Kenneth Goldman, Hubert Goldman and Max Goldman, and one sister Maxine Peters.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. John Booker officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice.
