John Michael Bruner, 63, of Owensburg, passed away at 3 a.m., May 28, 2004, at his residence.

Born May 22, 1941 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Arthur Raymond and Hazel (Lemley) Bruner

He was a retired school teacher at South West Allen County School System in Fort Wayne.

Survivors include: his wife Sharon Bruner of Owensburg; two sons, Michael Bruner of Michigan and Mark Bruner of Brown County; one daughter Shelley Spurgeon of Indianapolis; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service was at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 30 at Jenkins Funeral Home Bloomfield with the Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial was in Owensburg Cemetery.

Visitation was Saturday and one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
