Born July 2, 1908 in Greene County, she was the daughter of James Hile and Buelah Alberta (Drake) Stotts.
She was a homemaker and had also worked as a cook for The Cardinal Inn in Bloomfield. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventists Church in Bloomfield, was a published author, and had attended Indiana Business College in Indianapolis.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carol Kirkman and her husband Larry of Bloomington and Mary Becker and her husband Paul of Bellevue, Wash.; two sons, James McConnell and his wife Jan of Brooks, Ky., and Dale McConnell and his wife Donna of Sanford, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three nieces; and one sister-in-law Audrey Stotts of Monrovia
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kessie Jean McConnell, who passed away Feb. 28, 1960, one granddaughter Claudine (McConnell) Pauley; one brother Kenneth Edward Stotts; and one sister Audrey Spear.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield with the Rev. James McConnell officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
