Born Nov. 2, 1923 in Henderson, Ky., she was the daughter of Byron and Mary (Schenk) Pinson. She had been married to Ralph E. Ternes for 54 years.
She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Name Catholic Church Bloomfield. She was a former member of Tri Kappa and was on the board of directors for the Girls Scouts of America in Terre Haute.
Survivors include: her husband Ralph E. Ternes of Bloomfield; one son David Ternes of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Jane Francis and her husband Randy of Downingtown, Pa., and Susan Blethen and her husband Stephen of The Colony, Texas; one brother Charles Pinson and his wife Bette of Fort Myers, Fla.; one sister Irene Smith of Washington, D.C.; one sister-in-law Jean Pinson; three grandchildren, Nick and Ryan Francis and Sarah Blethen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Ernest, Robert and Harold Pinson; and one sister Brenda (Pinson) Humber.
A funeral mass will be at Holy Name Catholic Church in Bloomfield on Friday at 10 a.m. with Fr. Michael Madden officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson, Ky.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
