Paul M. Turpin, 74, passed away at 9:55 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.

Born Jan. 7, 1931 in Burn City, he was the son of Opal Sr. and Gertrude (O'Brian) Turpin.

He worked at Hilary Peat Tree Farm in Grove Land, Fla., and also as a carpenter and coal miner.

Survivors include: his wife Yvonna (Goodman) Turpin of Coalmont, Tenn.; one son Steve Turpin of Gainesville, Fla.; four brothers, Oma Turpin of Tampa, Fla., Bruce Turpin of Pleasantville, J.R. Turpin of Bloomington, and Richard Martindale of Sullivan; three sisters, Eva Meurer of Lyons, Jean Becker of Pueblo, Colo., and Deeanne Jones of Shelburn; and one grandson Ron Turpin of Coalmont, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sheila Turpin, a grandson and two brothers, Ivan and Joseph Turpin.

There will be no visitation or funeral service.
