Mary Rebecca "Becky" Girdner, 43, of Plainfield passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, 2004 at her residence.

Born Jan. 3, 1961 in Linton, she was the daughter of Tom and Mary Margaret (Harmon) Girdner.

She was a 1985 graduate of Ball State University, volunteered at the Hendricks County Senior Citizens and the Speech Department of the Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She tutored first- and fourth-grade students at the Van Buren Elementary School in Plainfield. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Plainfield.

Survivors include: her mother Mary Margaret (Harmon) Girdner of Plainfield; her father Tom Girdner of Port Richey, Fla.; her maternal grandmother Alberta (Webster) Harmon of Switz City; her sister Donna Klebusch of Plainfield; her nieces, Nicole Klebusch of Bloomington and Ashley Klebusch of Plainfield; and her nursing aid Vicki Matillo of Cloverdale.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with the Rev. Steve Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. until the time of service today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of Indianapolis through the funeral home.
