Murlin E. Palmer

Murlin E. Palmer, 78, of Indianapolis and formerly of Worthington, passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004 in Indianapolis.

He was a crane signalman for GM and a truck and bus driver for 27 years. He retired in 1990. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Sunday School Superintendent for 40 years and a Deacon and trustee for Mars Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife Jean Roberts Palmer; two daughters, Susan and her husband Carl Pitcock and Honey L. and her husband Danny Shirley; two sons, Gary W. and his wife Peggy Palmer and Paul E. "Chip" and his wife Kimberly Palmer; a brother Carl E. Palmer; a sister Ora Alice Windich; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son David E. Palmer and three brothers, Donald R., William P. Jr., and Glen R. Palmer.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Baptist Church, 955 Oliver Ave., Mars Hill, with burial in the Floral Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. today, and Friday at Conkle Speedway Funeral Home, 4925 W. 16th Street, Speedway.

Memorials contributions may be made to The Baptist Church for Missions distribution.
