Wahneeta May Shelton, 74, Route 1, Lyons died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital.

Born April 24, 1930 in Martin County, she was the daughter of Elmer Grissom and Gerata (Sellers) Grissom.

A homemaker, she as a member of the Lyons Eastern Star, Lyons American Legion Auxillary and Lyons United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, John Thomas Shelton, Worthington; Donnie Shelton and Joe Shelton, both of Lyons; one daugther, Linda Gruenberg Hernandez, of Lyons; three sisters, Geneva Bass, Williams, Leona Gala, Sarasota, Fla., and Virginia Warner, Marion; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Thomas A. Shelton.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons with the Rev. Cletus Bough officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at Jenkins Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
