He was born Aug. 30, 1943 in Norfolk,Va., to LeRoy William Summers and Dorothy Louise (Batsroff) Chiders of Bloomfield.
He was employed by Williams Brothers Healthcare Pharmacy in Bloomington. He was a member of the Paragon Christian Church and American Legion Post 230 in Martinsville. He also served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1961-65.
Survivors include: one son, William Lee Summers of Paragon; three daughters, Angie Summers of Paragon, Melissa Sullivan of Flaorida and Michelle Cora of Brownsburg; one brother, Steven Ray Summers.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William Jackson Summers and one daughter, Jessica Dawn Summers.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Neal and Summers Funeral Mortuary in Martinsville.
Friends and family may call from 5-9 p.m. today, and one hour prior to funeral Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Ind.
