Born June 19, 1933 in Greene County, he was the son of Clyde Alvin and Lucille (Bough) Combs. He was married to Lois (Sommerville) Combs.
He was a meat buyer and formerly a meat cutter for Safeway for over 50 years. He was a member of Indianapolis Masonic Lodge 669, and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. He belonged to the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Indianapolis.
Survivors include: his wife Lois (Sommerville) Combs of Indianapolis; his children, Kevin Combs and Jamie Glass; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Alvin and a son Jeffrey S. Combs.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center-Decatur Twp., 5463 Kentucky Ave., Indianapolis with the Rev. John Dunaway officiating. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery, West Newton.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
