Born April 9, 1915 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Marvin and Florence (Minks) Bland. She was married to Dorris Sparks, who passed away in 1982.
She was a homemaker and attended Tulip Church of God.
Survivors include: three daughters, Norma Jean Harlan and her husband Lloyd of Grabill, Betty Lou Miller and her husband Charles of English, and Carol Ann Sparks of Bloomfield; one son Ronald David Sparks and his wife Sue Byers of Bloomfield; one sister Maxine (Bland) Hash of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dorris Sparks; four brothers, Ray, Clifford, Lennie and Kenneth Bland; four sisters, Ava Lindsey, Lana McIntosh, Berneice Hash, and Leafie (Vandeventer) Jaynes; one granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield with the Rev. Jeff Rockey and the Rev. Lloyd Harlan officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
