Born July 17, 1936 in Vermillion County, he was the son of John and Janet Lindsay Vorek.
He was a painter working from Painters Local 197 before his retirement. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a member of Clinton Izaak Walton League and the American Legion Post 140. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Clinton. He was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include: his wife Sharon Giacherio Vorek of Clinton; three children, John Vorek and his wife Lori of Clinton, Gayla Dailey and her husband Dan of Linton, and Chip Vorek and his wife Kara of Clinton; five grandchildren, Lindsay Vorek, Carlie Vorek, Christopher Vorek, Kalynn Dailey, and Kamryn Dailey; special friend Paloma Alvarez of Madrid, Spain; a brother David Vorek of Clinton; a sister Victorine Decker of West Terre Haute; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Deann and Wilbur Bennett of West Baden Springs; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; special friend Jean Brock of Clinton; and his special buddy, Meg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Clinton with Father Bernie Head officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
