Patricia Joann Groomer, 62, of Bloomfield, passed away at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 at Greene County General Hospital.

Born March 27, 1942 in Bicknell, she was the daughter of Carl and Violet (Conrad) Yocum. On Jan. 17, 1970, she married Clyde V. Groomer.

She worked as a paper carrier for both The Evening World and The Herald-Times for 35 years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include: her husband Clyde V. Groomer of Bloomfield; four sons, Todd and his wife Melanie McCabe of Solsberry, Jeff and his wife Sara Groomer of Bloomfield, Billy Groomer of Springville, and Tommy Groomer of Springville; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Groomer, Brandon McCabe, Grant Thorton, Madison McCabe, Sean Groomer, Jarred Groomer, Shyanne Groomer, Brittney Groomer, and Casey Groomer; one sister Doris Grabbie of Martinsville; and one brother William Yocum of Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with Brother Ed Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hash Cemetery, Bloomfield.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
