Born July 7, 1906 in Clay County, she was the daughter of Emmett and Mary (Ellis) Clayton.
She was a homemaker, a 1923 graduate of Coalmont High School, and attended Indiana University, teaching school before she was married. She was a member of the Switz City Baptist Church.
Survivors include: a daughter Mary Elizabeth Iverson of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Terry Livingston, Elizabeth Schulz-Seelbach, Jeanette Rumbolo, Chris Followell, Richard Arthur, Jennifer Field, and Angela Hunter; and 11 great-grandchildren, Michael Iverson-Rumbolo, Jessica Schulz, Clayton Schulz, Angel Rumbolo, Brei Ann Followell, Dylan Field, Sydney Field, Tristan Arthur, William Arthur, Chance Hunter and Gabriel Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Willis Glenn Livingston, her second husband Charles Padgett; a son Gary Glenn Livingston; a daughter Mildred "Millie" Jeannette Arthur; two brothers, Ray Clayton and Clarence Clayton; and six sisters, Olive Hollars, Ruby Livingston, Flossie Terhune, Ethel Livingston, Mildred Fitz, and Velma Luttrell.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel, with Rick Smale officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
