Born July 20, 1915 in Linton, he was the son of Freeland and Ethel F. (Edwards) Rich.
He worked several years as a wall paper hanger and painter in the Linton area, and retired after 19 years of service at Inland Steel in East Chicago, In. He was a member of the Linton Moose Club.
Survivors include: a son Jerry and his wife Lenore Rich of Monon; two daughters, Connie and her husband Theodore Bauer of Vienna, Va., and Terri and her husband Robert Colengleo of Sewell N.J.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Violet (Combs) Rich and his second wife Hazel (Skinner) Rich.
Funeral services will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. and 9 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Veteran's Widow Fund through the funeral home.
