George A. "Bud" Meier, 78, of Bloomfield, passed away at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at his residence.

Born Oct. 4, 1926 in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Charles and Geneva (Barker) Meier.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a federal employee at Crane NWSC as a technician.

Survivors include: one brother Robert Meier of Ocala, Fla.; two step-children, Janet Edwards of Louisville, Tenn., and Geraldine Johnson of Brazil, South America; eight step-grandchildren; and 12 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles "Chuck" Meier.

Funeral service and visitation was Sunday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield with the Rev. Brent Meyer officiating and an American Legion service. Burial was in Mount Nebo Cemetery, Newberry.
