Born Dec. 21, 1929 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Paul and Opal (Mullis) Haywood. He moved to Bradenton in 1973.
He retired as an accountant. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Bradenton. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the Sahib Shriners and Scottish Rite of Tampa. He was also a member of the Manatee Classic Cruisers and VFW of Bradenton.
Survivors include: his wife of 54 years Dorothy Haywood; three daughters, Rebecca Myers of Tampa, Jillene Bergeron and Carrie Hannabass of Bradenton; a brother Gilbert Haywood of Mineral City; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Philip.
Funeral service was held April 8, 2005 at Mansion Memorial Funeral Home, with graveside services at Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton, Fla.
