Joan Delph, 72, of Linton, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 19, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Bloomfield.

Born April 29, 1933 in Linton, she was the daughter of James and Bonnie (Fulford) Wallen.

She was retired after working as a custodian at Bloomington South High School and had previously been a foreman at Keller Aluminum Chair Factory in Linton.

Survivors include: two sons, Jim Delph and his friend Arlene Near of Linton, and Gilbert "Bill" Delph and his wife Kim of Linton; a daughter Patricia and her husband Ben Hershman of Bloomfield; ten grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Delph of Dugger and Madge Delph of Mooresville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert Delph, who passed away December 9, 1991, and a son Charles Delph.

Funeral service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
