Lesta Cooksey, 94, of Terre Haute and formerly of Linton, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2005, at Harborside Health Care in Terre Haute.

Born December 16, 1910 in Farmersburg, she was the daughter of Opha and Ora (Shoemaker) Gaskins. She had been married to Ermil Cooksey, who passed away in 1995.

She was a member of the Linton Church of God.

Survivors include: a son Nickolas Cooksey and his wife Loretta of Clinton; a daughter Rita and her husband Tim Dunigan of Brazil; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ermil Cooksey, two brothers, and two sisters.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at the Bohley Cemetery near Linton with Bro. Jerry Carmichael officiating.

Friends may call at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. today.
