Born April 5, 1941 in Sullivan County, he was the son of John Russell Pitcher and Nola Monk Pitcher Craig.
He was a member of the Sons of American Legion in Bloomfield and worked at Bland's Nursery in Linton.
Survivors include: a daughter Pamela Myers of Marco; two step-sons, Raymond Wayne Pitcher of Sullivan and Billy Jo Pitcher of Coalmont; a brother Hubert O. Pitcher of Linton; two sisters, Bonnie Stuller of Carlisle and Virginia Sluder of Sullivan; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Frank Craig, a son David Lee Pitcher, and three brothers, John R. Pitcher, Jr., James A. Pitcher, and Glenn E. Pitcher.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery in Greene County.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today, and before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
