Luella (Rush) Walters

Luella (Rush) Walters, 91, of Bloomington, passed away at 1:38 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital.

Born March 22, 1914 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Thomas and Maude (Clair) Rush. She had been married to Roy Jacob (Sam) Walter, who passed away Oct. 17, 1996.

She was a homemaker and also worked at RCA and Indiana University in Bloomington. She was a member of the Solsberry American Legion Auxiliary Post 450.

Survivors include: a son David Walters and his wife Carol of Bloomfield; a daughter Jeannie Walters-Johnson of Solsberry; grandsons, Dennis Walters, Rob N. Johnson and his wife Autumn, Ryan Combs, PFC, James Baukat, Justin Baukat, Lance-Corporal, and Sean Baukat; granddaughters, Cheryl Walters-Oldfield and her husband Claude, Tracy Johnson and her husband Jeff; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Jacob (Sam) Walters, a son Kenneth Walters, SP4, who was killed in Vietnam, a daughter Cindy Walters-Baukat, a sister Thelma Newton, and three brothers, Carl, Curtis, and Wayne Rush.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Henry Mann, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Bingham Cemetery, Solsberry.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
