Born Jan. 3, 1928 in Clay County, she was the daughter of Chester and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Blanton) Cooprider.
She was a graduate of Coalmont High School. She previously worked in the card section at Wal-Mart and was a hostess at Wendy's restaurant, both in Linton. She was a member of the Saron United Church of Christ in Linton.
Survivors include: two sons Joe Duncan of Linton and Jerry Duncan of Green Bay, Wis.; a daughter Carolyn Swaby of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; a brother Wendell Cooprider of Jasonville; two sisters Joan Everwine of Clay City and Mary Ruth Green of Worthington; seven grandchildren Cindy Peek, Stacy and Ben Swaby, Matt and Levi Duncan and Amber and Gavin Skinner; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Duncan on March 9, 1999, a grandson Jeremy S. Duncan on Oct. 18, 1994 and her parents.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6 at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with her grandson Matt Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today, and after 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday.
