Born May 4, 1925 in Washington, he was the son of Walter Grover and Bertha May LuAllen Harrell. He was married to Bertha (McDonald) Harrell.
He was a janitor for Newberry High School and Switz City Central High School. He was also a dairy farmer and had retired. He was a member of the Newberry Advisory Board for eight years and the Sugar Land Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife Bertha Harrell of Newberry; a daughter Sue and her husband Jim Aynes of Newberry; two grandchildren, Randy Lee Sullivan of Newberry and Brandi Dawn McCammon of Sullivan; three step-granddaughters, Pamela Aynes and Laura Aynes, both of Linton, and Mitzi Johnson of Switz City; three great-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; and a sister Katherine Morris of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and one brother.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield with the Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Lyons.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
