Thelma E. Jarrett, 87, of Indianapolis and formerly of Greene County, passed away at 12 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005 at Lakeview Manor in Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 23, 1917 in Midland, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Rosa (Durham) Lee.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Linton.

She is survived by her husband John Jarrett; two sons Eddie Lee Shonk of Indianapolis and Shellie R. Shonk of Frisco, Texas; one daughter Sue Ann Barr of Avon and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Shellie Shonk in 1960; three brothers Marcus Lee, Rex Lee and Thomas Lee; one sister Nellie Lee Parisho; and one grandson Robert (Bobbie) Reath.

Graveside service was at 10:30 a.m. today at Fairview Cemetery in Linton with the Rev. John Booker officiating.

There was no visitation, and Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger was in charge of the arrangements.
