Born July 6, 1939 in Bicknell, he was the son of Maurice "Buster" and Rhea Pitcher.
He was a coal miner and equipment operator for Black Beauty Coal for 25 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the BPO Elks 866, Loyal Order of the Moose 1434, and the Bicknell Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: two sons, Jay D. Pitcher of Bloomington and Jeff L. Pitcher of Vincennes; two grandsons; and companion Norma McCammon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, Linton, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and from noon until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic memorial service.
