Denice M. Padgett

Denice M. Padgett, 52, of Hymera, passed away at 1:21 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at her residence.

Born July 28, 1953 in Gary, she was the daughter of Loren Mejean and Juanita Williams Mejean.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Hymera.

Survivors include: her father Loren Mejean and his wife Dorothy of Pleasantville; her husband James Padgett of Hymera, her father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Mary Ester Padgett of Linton; two daughters, Juanita Dawn and her husband Carl Griffith of Dugger, and Mary Marie and her husband Matthew Baker of Hymera; five brothers, Loren Mejean and his wife Claudette of Florida, Brian Mejean and his wife Phyllis of Vicksburg, Elmer Mejean of New Mexico, Frank Mejean and his wife Tonie of Pleasantville, and Robert Mejean and his wife Sandy of Pleasantville; a sister Gerrie and her husband Marvin Hayes of Alabama; a half-sister Margo and her husband Ron Bergerson of Texas; and five grandchildren, Jessica Kirkley, Leon Kirkley III, Austin Kirkley, Cody Baker, and Laurean Rea Baker.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Hymera with Pastor James Quick officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and before the service Wednesday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger.
