Hershel Neff, Jr., 66, of rural Jasonville, passed away at 6:22 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 at his residence.

Born Feb. 28, 1939, he was the son of Hershel Neff Sr. and Helen Downing.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of the Dugger American Legion Post 224, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Jasonville.

Survivors include: his wife Dorothy Neff of Jasonville; three sons, Aric Neff of Linton, and Hershel Neff III and Aaron Neff, both of Brazil; four brothers, Jack Neff of Merrillville, Donald Neff of Jasonville, and James Neff and Charles Neff, both of Dugger; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jerry Neff, who passed away in 1999.

Graveside service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg. Cremation is scheduled.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger.
