Born Nov. 2, 1928 in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Bernice (McCarthy) Edmondson. Claude Edmondson was his step-father. He had been married to Virginia Williams, who passed away June 18, 1967.
He was a foreman for 30 years for Shaw Tree Service. He loved to fish and camp.
Survivors include: his life-long companion Virginia Nance and children, Chester and Julie Nance, Thomas Nance, Joann Nance and Jerri Lynn Wilson, all of Indianapolis; a daughter Bernice Smith of Linton; a daughter and son-in-law Jenny and Mike Baker of Linton; a son Rocky Edmondson of Indianapolis; a sister and brother-in-law Julie and J.J. Roberts of Shelburn; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; some nephews; and some great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-father and mother, his wife Virginia, three sons, Cecil Williams, Clyde Edmondson, and Billy Edmondson, and two sisters, Barbara Mumma and Loretta Hair.
Funeral service was Nov. 8 at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Sam Bush officiating. Burial was in Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville.
