Robert A. Montgomery, 80, of Sullivan, passed away at 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at Sullivan Health and Living Center.

Born March 22, 1925 in Sullivan County, he was the son of Sheldon Montgomery and Sarah Abrams Montgomery.

He retired from Northrop Aircraft in California, was a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of the VFW.

Survivors include: one daughter Betty Jean Montgomery of Sullivan; three sisters, Joyce Grass, Phyllis Falconbury, and Pat Volk, all of Sullivan; four grandchildren, Jeanie West, Brandi Summerville, Shad Montgomery, and Brian Montgomery; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son Bobby Dean; two brothers, Dean Montgomery and Gurthel Montgomery; and one grandson John Montgomery.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and before the service Thursday at the funeral home.
