Martha Alice Johnson, 74, of Terre Haute and formerly of Texas and Worthington, passed away at 8:25 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Born Sept. 27, 1931 in Worthington, she was the daughter of Paul and Ruby (Wimmer) Hunter.

She worked as a secretary for the Beauty Board in Indianapolis, the Children's Protection Agency in Houston, and the AARP in Terre Haute. She was a member of the Folsom Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: two daughters, Linda and her husband Leroy Gentry of Freedom and Jodi and her husband Ramon Rincon, Jr. of South Houston, Texas; a brother Robert Hunter of Wanamaker; six grandchildren, Stacey, Tracy, Mike, Robin, Crystal, and Shannon; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother William P. "Bill" Hunter, an infant son Jimmy Dale Johnson, an infant daughter Alice Marie Johnson, and an infant brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Worthington Chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and after 9 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
