Born Oct. 17, 1951 in Dugger, he was the son of Bert G. and Eva Mae (Hickman) Chesterfield.
He was a truck driver with Larno Trucking for 12 years and served as Worthington Town Marshal for 14 years. He retired in 2000.
Survivors include: a son Bert G. Chesterfield, III of Jasonville; a daughter Brenda G. Chesterfield of Jasonville; three brothers, Mike Chesterfield of Dugger, Jim Chesterfield of St. Menard, and Dan Chesterfield of Bloomington; and two sisters, Bonnie Evans of Worthington and Lorenda Forney of Trenton, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Jerry Chesterfield, and a sister Bianca Chesterfield.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at Dugger Cemetery with the Rev. John Paul Forney officiating.
There will be no public calling or viewing.
