Ruth E. Gainey, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2006.

Born Sept. 7, 1914 in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Thurman and Louvia (Fitzpatrick) Gainey.

She worked as a lab tech at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bloomfield and Morris St. Methodist Church in Indianapolis.

Survivors include: nieces, Mary Lou Isenogle, Shirley Moore, Terri Green and Jamie Ryan; nephews, Ray C. and Tony Gainey; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Willard, Richard and Ray A. Gainey, and sisters, Grace Loffland and Mary Fiscus.

A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m. today at Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield.

Visitation was Sunday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Ave. Funeral Home in Indianapolis.
