Bessie (Turner) Young, 99, of Jasonville passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006 at 2:08 p.m. at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.

Born Jan. 17, 1907 in Jamestown, Tenn., she was the daughter of Daley and Mary Elizabeth Turner.

She married the late John H. Young and was a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Myrtle Pearson of Scottsville, Ky.; three sons, Bill Young of Punta Gorda, Fla.; James H. Young of Shelburn; and Edward Young of Greenwood; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several step-great grandchildren and one step great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Gene Young; three brothers, Pete, Tillman and Headley Turner; three sisters, Thelma, Ann and Bertie.

Funeral service is Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Frank Rodgers officiating. Visitation hours are today from 4-8 p.m., and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will follow at the Antioch Cemetery in Dugger.
