Born Oct. 5, 1917 in Jasonville, she was the daughter of John and Ina (Reed) Burris. On April 11, 1936, she married Clifford W. Zimmerman.
She was a homemaker and also worked as a matron at the Coalmont School for 13 years until she retired. She was a member of the Christadelphian Church of Jasonville.
Survivors include: her husband Clifford of Jasonville; three daughters, Sue Appleby of Clayton, Tanya Wallisa of Linton, and Mary Rehmel of Jasonville; two sons, Cliff Zimmerman Jr. of Plainfield and Ron Zimmerman of Greenwood; two sisters, Bonnie Stainbrook of South Bend, and Betty Rose of Simpsonville, S.C.; two brothers, John Burris of Jasonville and Bill Burris of Fort Branch; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jim Zimmerman, three sisters, Mary Fries, Geneva Hayden, and Ruth Markle, and two grandchildren, Darcy W. Zimmerman and Jon R. Zimmerman.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. on Friday at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Brothers Steve Evans and Ted Plew officiating. Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery at Howesville.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday, and 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
