James L. Lawson Jr., 61, of Jasonville, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2006, at his rural Clay County residence.

Born Feb. 20, 1945 in New Castle, he was the son of James L. Lawson, Sr., and Josephine Lavern (Adams) Lawson.

He had retired as a tool & die maker from Guide Lamp of Anderson. He was a member of The Sons of the Jasonville American Legion Post #172, where he was Past Commander of five years.

Survivors include: his mother Josephine L. Lawson True of New Castle; a daughter Ruth Ann Lawson of New Castle; and a brother Joe Lawson of Martinsville.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Paul T. Lawson.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
