Born July 6, 1930 in Bruceville, he was the son of Alman and Nellie (Long) Burress. In 1954, he married Wanda J. (Bare) Burress.
He was retired from driving a truck for Burress Trucking. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Sandborn, where he served as a Deacon and Elder. He was a Corporal in the US Marines during the Korean War.
Survivors include: his wife Wanda Burress of Westphalia; two sons, Billy G. Burress and his wife Terrie of Vincennes, and Randy M. Burress and his wife Jackie of Westphalia; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Burress of Tennessee, and Charlie Burress of Bicknell; and a sister Lucille Carrico of Bicknell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant siblings, a brother and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Bicknell Chapel, with Pastor Bryan Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Edwardsport I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
