Born June 27, 1934 in Hackensack, N.J., he was the son of Alfred and Frances Klein Goetz.
He obtained an Engineer of Mines degree from Colorado School of Mines and a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Carnegie Tech. He was a Mining and Metallurgical Engineer for Exxon Coal and Mineral Co. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include: his wife Luanna Jane (Mount) Goetz, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Mount; two daughters, Diedre and her husband Eugene Walker of Cypress, Texas, and Tracy and her husband Michael Epps of Ft. Worth, Texas; a son Eric Goetz of Houston, Texas; a sister Marilyn Clausen of Framingham, Ma.; and a grandson Duncan Thrasher of Galveston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will be on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
