Dennis Gene Evans, 65, of Washington, passed away at 4:25 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2006 at Newberry.

Born July 7, 1941 in Daviess County, he was the son of Floyd G. Evans and Anna Laura (Clark) Evans.

He was an auto mechanic and had retired as a roofer for Schriber Roofing in Detroit, Mich. He was a member of the Roofers Union Local 149 in Detroit, Mich.

Survivors include: a son Dennis Gerald Evans of Crystal, Mich.; four daughters, Sherry Dallape of Detroit, Mich., Brenda Edwards of Falmouth, Ky., Lynna Brown of Washington, and Anna Poe of Foster, Ky.; a sister Joann Edwards of Washington; his companion Louise Simmerman of Newberry; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four nieces; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Floyd.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date.

There will be no public visitation or services.
