Born July 26, 1921 in Jasonville, she was the daughter of Dick and Georgia (Hadley) Barnard. She was married to Everett "Junior" Honchell.
She had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Freeman Greene County Hospital and Glenburn Home in Linton and at Mary Sherman Hospital in Sullivan. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and the Quilters at Heart, all of Linton.
Survivors include: her husband of 38 years, Everett "Junior" Honchell of Jasonville; a daughter Norma Jean and her husband Carl Borders of Jasonville; two sons Earl McHenry and his wife Bonnie of Indianapolis, and David McHenry and his wife Debbie of Fortville; two sisters, Mary Ellen Winklepleck of Phoenix, Ariz., and Athena Witham of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Jeff McHenry, Norman Borders, Carla Lammott, and David McHenry; five step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Richard Earl McHenry, two brothers, Richard and Ralph Barnard, and her parents.
Private funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel Thursday with the Rev. Harold Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
