Born March 1, 1918, in Greene County, he was the son of Walter and Maude (Edwards) Loffland.
He retired from the Terre Haute Tribune in 1981 as a Linotype Operator, after 30 years service. He was a member of Typographical Union No. 76. He attended Folsom Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthington.
He joined the Navy Aug. 13, 1941, discharged, Nov. 2, 1945 as a Second Class Petty Officer.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy May (Wilkie) Loffland, of Worthington; one son, Gary Wayne Loffland, of Lafayette; two granddaughters, Heather Meggitt and Lisa Loffland; great granddaughter, Amanda LaFrance; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Murrel and Paul Loffland.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 1 p.m. on Wednesday with the Rev. Doug Sanders officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
