Born Feb. 17, 1912, in Harding (La Salle), Ill., she was the daughter of John and Fannie (Nettlingham) Brown.
A retired registered nurse, she had worked in Sandwich, Ill., and Joliet, Ill.
She was a member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church, and a member of the YMCA.
She was a graduate of Grant Hospital nursing class of 1933 in Chicago.
Survivors include one son, Roger Powell and his wife, Patti, of Solsberry; one daughter, Bonnie Mathews of Orofino, Idaho; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wilbur Brown and Allen Brown; one sister, Elizabeth Gullakson; and one son-in-law, Ray Mathews.
Services will be 4 p.m. on Saturday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel in Bloomington.
Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
